Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 8, 2026

Wedwale (“we”, “us”) operates wedwale.com, a multicultural wedding vendor marketplace serving North America. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to comply with Canada’s PIPEDA and applicable provincial and U.S. state privacy laws.

What we collect

  • Account information - when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We never see your password.
  • Planning data - guest lists, budgets, checklists, shortlisted vendors, and vision boards you create on Wedwale. This may include names and details of your wedding guests that you choose to enter.
  • Enquiry details - when you contact a vendor through Wedwale, we collect the information you submit: your name, email, phone number, preferred contact method, wedding date, and message.
  • Vendor applications - if you apply to list your business, we collect the business details you provide.
  • Usage analytics - we use PostHog to understand how the site is used (pages visited, features used). This helps us improve Wedwale.

How we use it

  • To provide the service - syncing your planning data across devices, sending your enquiries to vendors, and reviewing vendor applications.
  • To communicate with you - confirmation emails when you send an enquiry or apply as a vendor.
  • To improve Wedwale - aggregated, anonymised usage patterns guide what we build next.
  • We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

Where your data lives

  • Your data is stored securely with Supabase (our database provider) and processed through Vercel and Cloudflare (our hosting and security providers). Emails are sent via Resend.
  • Planning data you create while not signed in is stored only on your own device and never reaches our servers.

Who we share it with

  • Vendors - when you send an enquiry, we share your contact details and message with the Wedwale team, who forward it to the vendor you chose. That is the entire point of an enquiry, and we only share what you submitted.
  • Service providers - the infrastructure providers named above process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
  • Nobody else. No advertisers, no data brokers.

Your rights

  • Access - ask us what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction - ask us to fix inaccurate information.
  • Deletion - ask us to delete your account and all associated data. We will complete deletion requests within 30 days.
  • To exercise any of these rights, reach out through our contact page and we will respond promptly.

Cookies & local storage

  • We use browser local storage to save your planning data on your device and to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Data retention

  • We keep your data for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account or request deletion, your personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

Security

  • All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Database access is protected by row-level security so each user can only access their own data. Vendor contact details are never exposed publicly. We review our security practices regularly.
  • If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.

Children

  • Wedwale is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

  • If we make material changes, we will update this page and note the new effective date below. Continued use of Wedwale after changes means you accept the updated policy.
